USD 214 Offering Flu and Covid Testing
December 06, 2022
Dear Parents,
With the flu season upon us, we are asking for your help to stop and decrease the spread of germs and illnesses in our schools. Students can be in close proximity to each other and share illnesses easily. We are trying to maintain a healthy student population and your help is much appreciated.
Please keep your child home if they are sick or if they have any of the following:
- Fever of 100.4° F or higher
- May return to school when fever free for 24 hours without the use medication
- Muscle or body aches
- Shaking chills
- Fatigue
- Persistent cough and/or sore throat with any other symptoms mentioned above
- Vomiting or diarrhea
- May return to school when symptom free for 24 hours without the use of medication
- Diagnosis of the Flu or COVID
- With a diagnosis of the Flu, the student may return after 5 days and if they have been fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication.
- With a diagnosis of COVID, please contact a school nurse.
Please help prevent the spread of germs by everyday preventive actions:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- If you are sick, limit contact with others as much as possible to keep from infecting them.
- Cover coughs and sneezes.
- Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
- Wash your hands often with soap and water. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand rub.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth. Germs spread this way.
- Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects that may be contaminated with viruses/germs
- Get vaccinated (Vaccinations available at Grant County Health Department, Genesis, Ulysses Family Physicians Clinic, Grant County Drug or your primary care provider)
Thank you for helping keep our students Healthy and Ready to learn!
